A practical workshop on beekeeping was conducted for entrepreneurs in the Hunnasgiriya, Kalebokka, and Gomariya estates of the Kandy and Matale districts. Additionally, a separate workshop was held for entrepreneurs in the Elkaduwa, Bandarapola, and Ratwatta estates.
Beekeeping is an environmentally friendly income-generating method. The workshop emphasized this concept and provided guidance on how to establish and manage beehives effectively. The participation of self-employed individuals added significant value to these sessions. With the support of the Regional Economic Development Institution, beekeeping boxes were provided under a commercial agreement model.
A total of 80 beneficiaries participated in these workshops, gaining practical knowledge and skills in sustainable beekeeping practices.
