Pomegranates have long been regarded as a valuable fruit and medicinal plant, commonly grown in home gardens across Sri Lanka. Despite the presence of pomegranate plants in various regions, large-scale cultivation has been limited due to the lack of suitable varieties and challenges such as pests and diseases.
To address these issues, the Regional Economic Development Institution conducted a specialized training program on pomegranate cultivation for farmers in the Matale District.
